From Paper Towel Holder to Napkin Ring

Number ONE, I cut the paper towel core into approximately one and a half inch sections.
Number TWO, (I feel like Rene Zelwiger's "Cold Mountain" character) I covered each one with a couple of layers of torn brown paper bags and Mod Podge.
Third, I let them dry overnight. (Now they are as hard as acrylic.)
Now I wrapped them in fall colored raffia and glued buttons on them. I found these leaf buttons at Michaels. NOW I had enough for everyone at the table.

So when my hubs keeps saving them for storing extension cords and I tell him we have too many... now I can make something else! Struggling with being the recycling king and queen. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a great idea! They really are cute and sound easy enough (if only DH will let me play with scissors again HA). I take it there was no Mod Podge incident this time?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Kathy

Oh, those look so neat! I was just complaining to my husband that I don't have any "thanksgiving" looking napkin rings the other day... (I have spring flowers, summer beach, and christmas themed)... but I do have a paper towel roll that is almost done, so I'm going to try this today!

Oh Lynn, those turned out wonderful! I just saved an empty paper roll to see what I can come up with for a Christmas set of napkin rings!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Lynn...

My friend...you are so clever and sooo creative! I love your beautiful autumn napkin rings! My friend, Cindy from Applestone Cottage did something similar using the cardboard rolls. She cut them and covered them with pretty ribbon to coordinate with her tablescape! I think this is a grand idea! I would like to make some...thank you so much for the great idea and instructions! By the way...the little leaf buttons just make them!!!

My friend, sending you and your family my very best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Warmest wishes and Happy Thanksgiving!

PS...thank you so much for coming by and taking a peek at my Thanksgiving preparations. I finally got my tablescape posted so when you get through the holiday...come by!
