"Why Are You Growing Sticks?"

This is my "Kitchen Garden" on my back deck. Here we have basil.  Love Pesto!
This is the very beginnings of lettuce.  Last year I had a bit of trouble with my lettuce.  The kitties decided it was a lovely and cool spot in which to nap.
Here we have sage, dill, celery and rosemary.
Tomato plants designed for pots.  We'll see.  I am collecting sticks from the last storm and putting them in as kitty deterrents.  This bottom pot has marjoram, mint, lemon something and oregano.  I'm pretty sure the mint will take over before long.

Hi Lynn, With all our land I pretty much just have a teeny tiny kitchen garden like yours. I used the old wash tubs that I bought for the wedding party last year. No kitties to bother ours....just the deer which is pretty much why I don't have a big garden...boo! Blogger has been acting very strange. It would not post your comment so I manually did it but now it looks like I wrote it....ugh! Have a wonderful week. xo

I love your kitty deterents! My parents have been having problems with them... apparently their pots are in the perfect spot for kitties to sun themselves :) I'm going to mention sticks to them.

My garden on the other hand has a bad kitty problem... It apparently looks like a litter box! Makes me worried about picking lettuce right next to the stinky stuff.

Looks like it coming along well. Hope the sticks help. We have snails climbing up my pots!

Hi darling, what a great idea. I hope it detours the cats. Your plants are so healthy looking, you're going to enjoy having those all summer. hugs ~lynne~
