Front Yard

I have begun to plant and transplant. Gardening here between Mt. Shasta and Mt Lassen, (Why, Yes, that would be two active volcanoes, why do you ask?) is certainly different from the Southern California coastal area.

See the bird house I got Saturday at the mountain faire and the one I bought from the same people last year.

I made the little walkway so I can get to all of the areas to water and prune.
Now I must close because we are experiencing thunder and lightening! Yee Ha!

Love the path ideas. So you moved to Northern Cal from Southern. We have driven past Mt. Shasta so many times between Seattle and LA...
That's a beautiful area...

What a great little pathway and those birdhouses are over the top!
Your comment...a familiar someone...I have noticed some new visitors today.

It has been a busy day here and not over yet. I am on the neighborhood board and meeting is this evening. Just finished a two-hour practice with the ukulele band. We have a western show in Wed. at a small town library to kick off their summer reading program.
I am ready to sit on the deck with a bottle of wine and watching the sunset over the hills.

I love that garden - transplanting is good for the soul I think. Your puppy is adorable all fresh and nice; )

It's been challenging this last little while for me. Because of that, my focus has wavered, but my heart is good in spite of blue-screened Fatal Errors, crashes, 'puter woes. I've had dr. appts AND our air went out (I'm in south Florida... 95 yesterday) so I've not been on my blog nor have I come 'round to visit. Interesting week; )

Great list today on MaidenShade Matters, "How Long Can I Keep It? Shelf Lives for Common Foods".

Lynn,

You have quite a collection of statuary!! I love that. I like your birdhouses also. Are they just for decorative purposes??. As much a nature lover that I am, the birds always seems to find a low lying, decorative birdhouse of mine to nest in!!

In spite of your storm crashing in, it looks like you have been having nice weather. We are in the 50's. Nothing in Chicago is unusual~but this would be close. At least I have an excuse for sitting inside with my nose in my books!!

Enjoy the rest of your week, Lynn! :-)

Hi Lynn! I LOVE the birdhouses!! In fact, I love to feed the birds off my front porch every night with stale breads or crackers, and I get such a kick that they come right up to me now, even if I forget, as if to say "you have some for ME?".. The growing problem however, is that apparently the squirrels think they can do the same, and they are starting to scare me! )0:>
