Happy Pink Saturday, even though I didn't have time to sign up. We have been having a visit with great long-time friends! Notice I didn't say "Old."
My daughter-in-love gave me a puppy shower! This t-shirt and collar were among her gifts. Lexie is sort of ambivalent about them.

As If
OK, So, I went to buy some new towels to adorn my bathroom. I found these. The perfect colors. They look nice hanging there and hang there is all they'll ever do. After I put them on the rod I noticed that on every towel there was a tiny tag that says "Dry Clean Only."
(Isn't that some sort of a physical oxymoron?)
Fine. So I bought this fancy-schmancy tassel to hang there with them.
I hope nobody gets any ideas about getting them wet!
What is this world coming to!?

Happy, Happy First Day of Spring!
Meet Prissy Printemps.
She is happy to be out in the newness of springtime in her new denim dress, but she is not pleased with the two craft sticks that had to be hot glued to her behind to help her stand up. Perhaps that is why she has that snide expression sewed upon her face.
I had all of the materials and extras, seen here on hand, except for the hat. I confidently went into Michaels and then JoAnnes, but there were no itty bitty straw hats to be found. I finally made one with burlap saturated with glue and formed around half of a Styrofoam ball.
Prissy was pleased, but not enough to give up her sarcastic "nice try on the face" expression. Oh, well.

Old Bottles
I found these old bottles at a near-by antiques and stuff store. Today I was re-reading (while I was holding my sleeping puppy) my Jan-Feb Somerset Life and I happened upon Molly Quoyeser's soldering experience. Her bottles were lovely! While I have no soldering tool at this time, I do have plenty of garage sale jewelry to "unmake" and use. This is the outcome.
While working on them I noted that one of them said, "Edison Battery Oil" on it. It also has Thomas Edison's signature. There was another rare phrase on the bottle; "Made in USA"

The Hussy's Handbook
I love books. I especially love old books. I especially, especially love old, meaningful books.
My niece, Whitney, gave this one to me. It fits all categories.
It was first published in 1936. It started out as anonymous articles printed in Esquire Magazine. I especially liked, " I've Got the South in My Mouth."
Confession:
I have always been a hussy.

Little Puppy
Meet Sofia Alexis Guinn.
I accidentally bought her from a pet store when I went with my sister when she went to buy meal worms for her bearded dragon that she has in her classroom. I believe in rescuing dogs, but she looked like she needed rescuing, too! I think I'll call her Lexie. She weighs 2 pounds and 3 ounces and is just full of it, if you know what I mean!
In our family, we always name our dogs after naughty ladies. We have had Lolita, Scarlet, Jezebelle, Delilah, Olivia, Pinky, Mimi, Roxy, and Tinkerbell.

The End of a Perfect Visit
And now I must get into my Shrineless car and drive to SAC. I have had a wonderful visit with my friend, Judy. She taught me how to emboss and make cards. Now she will return to the warmth of the Arizona desert.

Car Shrine
I made this shrine a long time ago. It rode around in the back window of my car for several years. I loved to be walking toward my car in a parking lot and see people strolling by and stop to get a closer look
I cut the saints and angel's faces out and put my children's faces in them.
Now it's just in my office because I don't have a place for it to sit in my car.
