Roses and Rust in Redding

A craft and antique show is an excellent shoppertunity to add to one's eclectic treasures.
My sister and I went.  I got her birthday present here.

My favorite bunch of crafters, the girls from the Altered Wing Studio were there.
                       They have the best stuff!

Ginger is going to teach me how to make these soon.
My sister and I figured out that if you put something relating to France on your product,               you   get to ask about twenty more dollars for it.  Oui, Oui!
Go ahead and look.  I'll not say anything else.  Maybe

The items below were made from old spoons.
My sister got one that said, "Mama Tried."

They Were Tired of Being Left Behind

We want to go!  We'll be good!!!!
                      They begged and begged, so...
We took them for a walk on Redding's famous Sundial Bridge.
It is brightly lighted at night.  As a matter of fact they have to turn it down during salmon spawning season.  It disturbs them.  I don't blame them.  I'd hate to have bright lights on me when I am spawning.
During Breast Cancer  Awareness Week they make the lights PINK!
These disks show where the bridge shadow will be at all times of the day.
                                  The Sacramento River.
I have this plant at home.  It just came back from it's winter sleep.  My plant is in a pot and is about the size of a basketball.  Guess I'm going to have to get a bigger pot!  That's my sister standing behind it.
We meet lots of new friends!

If.

If I had it all to do over again, I'd have made better grades, which I COULD have easily.

I would have taken pictures of my baby's feet.

I'm not sure if the higher grades would have changed my life in any way, but I would love to look at my babies feet.

Lookie Lookie!

...at what I made!  It's backwards decoupage on an old window.
The top photo is of the whole thing and the rest are  a closer look
at the particulars.  While I was doing this, I had no idea how it would turn out.
But I am pleased with it. Applying the foreground (stamping) first and the background last,
was a bit taxing for my brain, which is already over taxed.
Thank you Ginger at Altered Wing.  If you live in the NorCal area, go there!  Hang out!  Have tons of fun!

Encaustic Activity At Altered Wing

Right here in the process, my sister reminded me to take pictures!  Thank goodness.
We were in a class at the wonderful Altered Wing Studio in Redding, CA.
I think I have found my creative HOME!! There are some wonderful ladies here and I have enjoyed both of my classes so far.
While we waited for each step to dry, there are plentyof wonderful things to look at.
This is our instructor, Ginger.  Very sweet and helpful!
This is Viki.  She taught me how to etch metal and add beads to jewelry.  I usually UN-make jewelry!
             More eye candy...
 This is my seester, Barbie.
My collage before the encaustic step.
         Love this lampshade--crafted by Ginger.
              I LOVE this!!!!

I knew this was Monica's spot when I first laid eyes on it!

Our final project.
