All Part of Life's Rich Pageant

This is my Pink Saturday offering.
To see more go see Bev athttp://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/

This is my car.
It is a very girly-looking Honda Pilot.
I have had it for five years.
(Yes. Five.)

I am obviously not a car person.
(Unless it's a Mustang 5.0 but I crashed it and got a sensible car.)

For all five years it has had this pink banner on the back window.
Why?
Why.

Well, I say it all the time. Especially when people say something to me like,

"I drove all the way to my yoga class and there was a note on the door saying it was canceled."
Or
"I got the Riser kid in my class."
Or
"I pooped my pants in Wall-Mart yesterday."

I can be somewhat obnoxious.

I like it! Sometimes we get too caught up in 'how important something is' and miss the big picture. You know...like what our hair looks like.
Enjoyed reading your travel log and glad you went and had a good time. Is nice to know there are folks out in the world that are real human beings...kind and caring.
Thanks for sharing and have a PINK of a weekend ;-)

Ahhh! We are Honda Pilot girls! I have driven nothing but for years.
(before that a cute honda CRV) My 08 is silver, and I put spiffy running boards on it. I feel so secure in that tank. I love that saying. I need to girlify my ride just like yours. Where did you get that decal? May I copy you? Questions Questions.

XOSue.

I personally think it's a great way to look at setbacks. I hope you are in the pink and having a wonderful day.

The other one I like along the same lines is:
You are where you are supposed to be.
If I miss a light or thing don't go as planned I figure all these things in my life that I may not have planned for have got me where I am today and are setting me up for what may come tomorrow.
BTW I wasn't even in Walmart yesterday.

Cute pink banner - reminded me of my son and his girlfriends new car (well hers). She allowed him to put one of his biking decals on the back window but its a pink one.

What a fun thing to have on your back window with the butterflies :)
I have a Honda Civic, two years old, kinda sporty but it's black. I ordered the red then over night changed my mind, was afraid the cops might pull me over in a red car LOL

I love what it says - a perfect reminder for all of us who get angry or frustrated! I'm a Honda girl- drove a Civic Hatchback for 8 years and now a Honda CR-V for another 8 - maybe the Pilot is next? Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday Lynn!
I so love the beautiful pinkies on your back window. Too cute. The Life's Rich Pageant, is just the best way of saying everything we go through, it's okay. We are all going through the same thing in one way, shape or form every day. It is part of life's plan. Like being on a roller coaster, with ups and downs. Thanks for the reminder.

Please stop by and let me share my pink post with you. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry

Good Sunday Morning, Lynn! I was so busy all day yesterday, that I am still trying to make the pink rounds before I head to church! LOVED this post! It's a good one for me, as something like this would definitely make me smile in even some of the worst of moments!.. Love all the butterflies too! Happy Pink Saturday, and hope you're enjoying a wonderful weekend! ~tina P.S. Dear Daughter is just starting her first FULL year as a teacher! It is funny to me as she is already saying "I've got that _ _ _ _ kid again this year." It doesn't look like it will be an easy year, but she adapts well.. Faculty and students LOVE her, and she knows things will get easier once she just gets through this first year. Maybe I should refer her to your post today! (0;

I'm addicted to good writing. So much so that when my own posts don't have anything clever in them, I stew for hours or days until I can come up with something. It's not easy keeping my cynical view of life hidden from the world. So, I thank you for pointing out Heather for inspiration. I did read yesterday and in my PS haste needed someone to slap me and say, "she's a good writer!" Today's post is great. How to follow her? Can't find the "button".

I look forward to YOUR writing so much, too. On to read down and then back to the PS list to read more posts from yesterday. I'm determined to give the "middle child" posts a read since those of us in the center of the list have to fight hard against the top and bottom! :-)

Happy Pink Saturday! (and, it could be Sunday...)

You are very funny! Not so much obnoxious as maybe a little sarcastic...we like sarcasm in our house! Very cute pink post.

Oh Lynn, I just read your entire blog about Leigh and Rob. I can hardly see to type this. Their story is one of love and I can't image the grief that you all must have shared.

God Bless

Yes, I would say that pooping one's britches in Wal Mart would definitely qualify as part of life's rich pageant. Hahahaha... thanks for the giggle!
All the best . . . Cass

Hi Lyn,
Thanks for visiting me...I am in Oklahoma City and have been to Ada several times. My in-laws lived in Redding until they passed away last year. My sister in-law lives there now...she is an artist and works for the art council in Redding...small world...oh by the way I'm not a car person either..have had my mini-van for 14years..LOL! Good to hear from you! Sonia

Pam @ Frippery said...

Not a car person either. I drive a Subaru Forester because of the safety rating. Before that I had a Windstar van for 10 years! Boring, as far as cars go. Love the saying, especially since you can reply to people who poop in their pants in Walmart. You kill me! Pam
P.S. May I borrow your phrase? I may use it to reply to every complaint I hear.
