Cologne Ambush, Youth Dew, and Canoe

I bought a new fabric softener last week and it smells like Ambush cologne. Isn't it amazing how a scent will woosh you backwards in a time tunnel! It was THE scent of the 60's. If you didn't wear it you were simply a social zero. Consequently all the girls smelled just alike.

Later it became mandatory to hose one's self down with Youth Dew

The guys wore Canoe for the same reasons, I guess.
I think I run into town and see if I can sniff me some Canoe and see who I think of.

Hi Lynn...

My friend, I'm thinking that I might be one of those "social zeros" because I've never even heard of Ambush cologne...eeekkkss! I have heard of Canoe of for men though...hope that counts as "one for me"! Hehe!

Lynn, I just wanted to apologize for not getting you linked up for my Sunday Favorites meme! I did receive your email that you were going to be out of town for Thanksgiving and that you had already prepared a SF post. Anyway, I checked several times...thinking that your post would publish and then I was going to add your link. We ended up going out of town on Sunday as well...leaving out early and not getting home till late Sunday evening...so I was unable to hook you up, my friend! I'm so sorry! I took a peek at your SF post...Girl, you just look so darn cute on that backhoe!!! I bet it IS lots of fun to run! Too cute! Anyway, thank you so much for your fun post!!!

I also read through your Thanksgiving post! Having to play a little "catch up" here! Mmmm...your Indonesian Thanksgiving feast looked soooo good! I would have loved it! Ohhh...and the men cooking??? the best Thanksgiving treat of all...love that!!! You lucky girl!!! Hehe!

Hope that you have a wonderful week, my friend! I'll talk with you later....

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

Lynn, my sister and I were just talking about Youth Dew on Sunday. She wore it for years and loves the body lotion but it isn't available in Canada any more. She even phoned head office in New York but they couldn't send it here. Lol.
Not my taste at all.
I am too young to remember Ambush, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I'm not too young. I remember Ambush. Youth Dew - I know it is considered heavy by some, but I still love it. That is a scent that takes me right back to my youth. The first time I smelled it was in junior high - we went to a live performance of "Oliver" - I was very excited...and I remember that scent - someone in the lobby had it on. I obsessed for years until I found out what it was. I never wore it - but I should get some to have on hand so I can just sniff it every now and then.

I have a strong sense of smell and certain scents evoke such a strong response in me - and such strong memories.

Oh...Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson is a purfume I will always remember from my childhood. Scents always make me remember things too!

I have older sisters and that is why I remember Ambush. Typical drugstore cologne. Youth Dew was my mom's favorite and you had to use it sparingly...it was strong!!! I think Canoe is still around.

Thanks for the memories, Lynn!

I don't remember Ambush but my mom wore Youth Dew for years. I was probably wearing Love's Baby Soft then.
