Bloggy Question

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have made it so I do not have to write that squiggly word every time I leave a comment.

I did it with no adverse effects.
It was simple.

Now, I'd like to know if there is anyone who has had any difficulty with mean or just plain crazy people leaving crap in your comment section, because I haven't experienced any of that.

I noticed that there are a few people who have the squiggly word AND blogger owner approval. Should I be worried about something that I am naively unaware of?

Its so much nice when its not there - -Lori E had me fix my blog. Now I just have to get her to teach me how to get it as pretty as yours. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE your title page -- did you do that picture yourself??

I have never had a problem and I have never used word verification or owner approval.
You can delete any comment at any time and if someone is spamming you it can be reported to blogger I think.

Oh ya, for the record I am crazy. Florida Lucy, I mean Sue can vouch for that.

I don't use either one and haven't had a problem. I have, however, not commented occasionally because I was in a hurry and didn't want to mess with typing verification words. I think you will be fine without them.

PS I didn't mean on your blog, just blogs in general, duh, I am so rude.

I used the word verification early on in blogging as I didn't know what to expect, but then I stopped using as I dislike doing that extra step when I visited other blogs.

I do have comment moderation any comment to a post that is over days old, as I found out that someone was leaving spam on my older blog posts. That helped eliminate that!

I didn't know you could turn it off at first and the minute I found out you could... I did. I get email notifications whenever anyone leaves a comment, no matter how old. If I don't like what they say, I do a post and have a little bloggy smack-down (filed under "Retorts" on my blog) and if it's spam or just someone I don't know, pimping their own blog/giveaway, I delete it.

I agree 100 percent. Good grief..if one gets a comment they don't like, just delete it. I have not left comments at times when I know i have to go thru all the stuff of verification. I just hate it. However, if it makes some feel better, it's ok with me.

I had a politician get to my blog somehow and I also had some shop selling water sports equipment leave a comment so that I would go to their website, so I started to use word verification It is a pain and I may take it off to see if anything else happens.

I used to not have word verification. Then I started getting spam comments - - - advertisements for this that and the other, and that's when I started using the word veri thing.

I know it's a pain - - - but I'd hate for someone to get sucked into some kind of a scam from something they found on my blog.

I don't use the squiggly word thing, either -- mostly because it DOES slow you down in leaving comments, and also it's embarrassing when sometimes I can't make out what the danged letters SAY.

Plus I keep trying to make sense of the random letters.

Yeah-- letter scramble AND blog owner approval? It's only words, folks! And you can always delete any comment anyway, but I've haven't had any problems.

I would also like to thank anyone who doesn't make commenters prove themselves!
