The OCD Thing Doesn't Apply Here

I know, I know. Most people publish photos of their lovely neat tidy work areas. This is simply the truth. I was reading somewhere a confession about having such a cluttered workspace, and having to paint in her lap. Yeah. I get that. Tidy people may think I arranged this mess to make a funny post. No.
I recently put the ironing board up to set some things to dry on it. Now it's cluttered. As you can see, I have places for everything, but still I need to have everything all over the place.
My ADHD runs amok in here. I will be working on something and while retrieving an item for whatever I am working on, I see something that makes me think of another idea for something so I get it out to stay in plain view to remind me of the new idea.

I always know exactly what I am doing. Everything. All at once.
Scary, huh.

at last! a shot of reality! i can't stand those "what's in your handbag" posts and everything is all neat and tidy and organized with precision on some 14k counter top. FAKE FAKE FAKE! nobody's handbag is all clean and tidy inside! nobody!

i am spazzing here! sorry!

but i can relate to a messy work station. but i'm kind of glad you can't see it!

Lynn,

There are people that are compulsively neat and then there are er...others! I think that I slide both ways since I have been known to have dual personalities! When all of my things are out, I can see them and remind myself of a project or an errand or a phone call. And then sometimes I get so much pleasure arranging things in drawers and baskets and bins. Unfortunatly, since there are others in the house that wouldn't think of putting something back where it belongs, I stress out trying to keep things perfect and then give up for my own sanity.

So you see, I swing back and forth. But maybe that is good because everyone can identify one way or the other!!

Great post (and honest!) ;-D

I think it's refreshing to see the "real deal"! My work space is messy too, and it's nice to know I am not the only one! :)

I love those pictures Lynn....it all looks so creative and interesting, I just want to delve in!!
My space is always messy; I tidy it up occasionally but it doesn't last long.
Good luck with the needle felting (although I think you've got enough to be going on with for the time being, LOL!!)

Scary??.. (Gasp!).. Oh yes. Frightening! I could hardly LOOK! It gave me the shivers! The horror of it all! Please.. Don't EVER make me go back there!!!

But ya know?... SOMETHING about it looked strangely FAMILIAR!!! (0; I have a large closet that serves as a small craft supply room. Now THAT'S a horror scene! I will NOT be posting pictures, rest assured!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. So I thought I would mosey over to your blog and I actually discovered we are kindred spirits. Your craft room shows me all the treasures you like working with, a woman with many passions. I, like you, go from one project to the next. It takes me a while but then I usually end up with several done at the same time. I say, don't worry about the clean up and just keep creating. Please visit again.

Fabulous Lynn!
When I get going on several projects at once, I do have a place for everything, but everthing's out! My husband is so glad when I can gather myself together again.

Well at last someone who is honest and works like me...messy, sure my craft room is straight and everything in it's place about once every 6 mos and it last for about a day. You can try all you want to put everything up as soon as you use it but then when would you get your project done, all your time would be spent getting stuff out and putting stuff up.
I look at these blogs were everything is neat and sparkly and I wonder how long it took them to actually set up the place to take the pictures. No one's and I mean no one's house, stays perfect all the time, if it does they either don't live in it, have no children or no life other than house keeping. Don't get me wrong, I keep my house clean, but it wouldn't be out of the question at any given time to have someone drop by and find my dishes not washed or the bed not made. I try to have a story book house but I also live in the real world.
I enjoyed your blog, keep creating.

You know what they say:

A creative mess is better than tidy idleness. I believe it, too.
