OLD CHAIR

I found this chair at a miscellaneous boutique and antique shop. It spoke to me. I can't decide whether to re-do it or leave it as is.
Anyone have any ideas?

I would consider reupholstering it first. If it looks good and you like it in a specific room, leave it. If not, you might try painting it and maybe distressing it a little. It looks like a great buy!!

Good luck!!

love the cane back. I agree with Blondie about reupholstering it and it will be prettier. Christine

It speaks to me too. Great find. Love the detail. I am imagining a loose fluffy feather cushion with some vintage trim or fringe.

Thanks for stopping by my place and glad to hear you enjoy Connie. I too love to listen to her. Such a pure voice always makes me smile too.

Enjoy!

It is a fabulous chair! I'd love to see the pictures if you re-do it.

Gorgeous chair!!
I would re-do the seat for sure, and add some padding!!!

If it were me i would paint it, but i'm a pint it white or black person.

Please show us what you decide to do.

blessings and thanks for coming to see my clocks. I'm sure even if you have some around, you still have others 'reminding you' it's time to go. =0))

That chair is so beautiful. I don't know what I'd do--leave it like it is, paint it?? So many choices. But please show us the end result!

Good morning!

Great chair, I love that style. I don't think I'd alter it.

Anyhow, I'm stopping by to say hello. I've posted a nice message today, IMHO anyway. Have a look.

Thank you for your comment on my blog! It is dumplings! I love your chair...from the pictures, it looks like the wood matches the other woods in your home, so you could leave the natural wood and just recover the seat. But if you decide to paint it...it might make it stand out more in your home. Either way it is a great chair!

Hi again, TY for coming to my blog.

Well that's a fine how'd'do. As wordy as you are? hrumph. I am sure I'm much wordier. LOL. I know, huh? What can I say, it's a gift. heh heh. Now I'm going to have to research to see just how wordy you are; )

What is funny is that if you met me in person, well, let's just say I write better than I speak. More comfortable with the written than the spoken word.

Anyhow I'm off to carry on as directed - I do have tons to do. xJ

PS
You know I'm kidding w/you right? The written word does have that disadvantage where inflection and tone of voice is absent - I loved your comment. There I go blathering on again... you're right!

If it was mine, I would paint if off white, not pure white and make one of those upholstered seats for it :) I redid a chair last year and wow, it is just beautiful now.
